How to secure your account with two-factor authentication

Protect your ESN Hosting panel account: turn on two-factor authentication, change your password, manage linked logins and API keys.

Your panel account controls your servers and files, so it's worth a few minutes to lock it down.

Turn on two-factor authentication (2FA)

  1. Sign in and open Account from the top bar.
  2. Find Two-Step Verification and choose Enable.
  3. Scan the QR code with an authenticator app (such as Google Authenticator, Authy or 2FAS), then enter the 6-digit code and your password.
  4. Save the recovery codes it shows you somewhere safe. They're the only way in if you lose your phone.

With 2FA on, the panel asks for a code after every sign-in, including Discord, Google, GitHub, GitLab, Steam and email-link sign-ins.

Change your password or email

On the Account page, use Update Password or Update Email Address. Both ask for your current password. If you've forgotten it, sign out and use Forgot password on the sign-in page.

Linked logins

Under Connected accounts you can link or unlink Discord, Google, GitHub, GitLab and Steam. Unlink anything you no longer use. See linking accounts.

API keys and SSH keys

API Credentials and SSH Keys (also under Account) are for advanced users who automate their servers or use key-based SFTP. Never share an API key, since it works like your password. Delete any key you don't recognise.

Check your account activity

The Activity page under Account lists recent sign-ins and changes. If you see something you didn't do, change your password, turn on 2FA and tell staff in the ESN Hosting Discord.

ESN staff will never ask for your password or 2FA codes. Only pay through links on the panel or in the official ESN Discord.

Still stuck? Use the live chat on the panel or ask in the ESN Hosting Discord. Last updated October 27, 2026.
