ESN Hosting FAQ: prices, trial, setup, payments and support
Short answers to the most common ESN Hosting questions: what you can host, prices, the free trial, setup time, payments, transfers, VPS-lite, deals and support.
Quick answers to the questions people ask most. Each one links to the full guide.
What can I host on ESN Hosting?
Discord and Telegram bots (Python, Node.js, Java and 29 more languages), Minecraft servers, Terraria, Factorio, Valheim and Palworld servers, websites, WordPress and web apps, and VPS-lite Linux containers. See all 22 plans.
How much does it cost?
Bot hosting starts at $0.50 a month on the Nano plan. Every plan and price is on Plans and billing, and paying yearly costs the same as 10 months.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Every account can run one free trial server the size of the Nano plan, for Discord bots, with no card needed. Trials started on or before November 2, 2026 last 7 days, then 3 days. See Free trial.
How fast is my server set up?
Right after you pay. It's created automatically and shows up on your panel dashboard within a minute or two, and you get a "server ready" message by email (and by Discord DM if your Discord is linked).
Do I need an account before I buy?
Yes. Create a free account on the panel, then buy from the panel's Plans page so the server is set up on your account.
How do I pay?
On Stripe's secure checkout, opened from the panel's Plans page. ESN never sees your card. Only pay through the Plans page or official links in the ESN Discord.
What happens if a payment fails or my plan ends?
The server is suspended. Paying for the plan again switches it back on. Keep your own copy of important files with backups.
Can I give my server to someone else?
Yes. The owner can move it to another ESN account by email from the server's Settings. See Transfer a server.
Is VPS-lite a full VPS?
No. It's your own Linux container with a shell and SFTP, but no root, apt, sudo, systemd or Docker. See VPS-lite.
Do you have referral codes or discounts?
Yes: referral codes that give a friend 50% off their first payment and give you a reward, a student discount, and seasonal deals. See Deals and referrals.
Do I get anything for boosting the ESN Hosting Discord?
Yes. Link your Discord to your panel account and boosters get a free server automatically. See booster perks.
How do I get help?
Use the chat bubble on the panel or esnoffical.com to message staff, or open a ticket in the ESN Hosting Discord. See Contact support.
Is something down right now?
Check the ESN status page. It checks every node, the panel, the website and the ESN SMP every minute.
