How to give a friend access to your server (subusers)
Add a friend or teammate to your ESN server with only the permissions they need, without sharing your password.
Never share your panel password. Instead, add the person as a subuser: they sign in with their own ESN account and only see the parts of your server you allow.
Add someone
- They need an ESN account first. They can create one for free.
- Open your server and go to Users, then New User.
- Enter the email address of their ESN account.
- Tick only the permissions they need, then save.
The server then shows up on their dashboard.
Choosing permissions
- Helping with a bot: console, start/stop/restart and file permissions.
- Minecraft moderator: console and power controls; skip file delete and startup changes.
- Only restarting the server: just the power permissions.
Leave out Startup and Settings unless you really trust them, because those can change how the server runs. Subusers can't transfer or pay for your server; only the owner can.
Change or remove access
Go back to Users, open the person, and edit their permissions or delete them. It takes effect right away.
Want to hand the server over completely instead? See Transfer a server.
